Adding some flare to my wardrobe

... pun intended. 

For a little while now, I've been observing flared jeans or flares in general coming back in the fashion world and whilst I was always a bit unsure about this style of pants/jeans on myself, I loved how they made me think of my childhood when your coolness level was measured on how long and funky your flared jeans were. Apart from the more hippie inspired flares here and there, the main focus has been on jeans or suit-pants kind of pants in the flare cut. I love the more colourful, patterned pants for summer, but I think I should start investing in a simple pair of flared jeans in a lighter blue shade before moving on to the more colourful styles. I even tried on a pair at Topshop last week but hadn't made up my mind about them yet, but I can definitely see myself going back to have a peek and hopefully purchase a pair for myself when my bank account is being refilled again *cough* birthday in two days *cough*. Do you have any favourite(s) amongst the different flare styles?

New in

One of the best thing about living in Luxembourg, is being able to go to France, Belgium or Germany without having to drive for hours. Within just an hour from my place, I can be in a German city called Trier. Yesterday, when I went to Trier, I did some sales shopping but also bought some bits and bobs from a shop called DM, which is basically the German version of Boots or Superdrug. 

The first picture shows (quite badly, unfortunately) two knitted turtleneck dresses I found in the ZARA sales. It's hard to show them well in a picture when they're not worn, but I'm sure that outfit pictures will follow soon, as I'm already wearing one of the two dresses right now. I had been looking for these kind of knits since November but never found ones I liked or I found them to be too expensive. When I had a look around the ZARA yesterday, I finally found some of these dresses and immediately bought two of them. The navy one was reduced to 17€ (original price was 26€) and the grey one was less than half of the original price (50€) - I got it for 20€ only, hellooo bargain! They're easily one of the cosiest items I own and I can already see myself living in these over the next few weeks, before the weather decides to get nicer again. 

In DM, I finally bought some lip pencils, which I something I had been meaning to do for months now, wanting to put more effort into putting on lisptick. The red and dark pink lipliners I bought matching with two lipsticks I already own in these colours and the darker beige/nude-ish lipliner I bought together with a matching lipsticks. All lip products are from the brand P2 and only cost me about 2€ each, plus they're cruelty free, which is always a nice added bonus! Lastly, I also picked up some face masks, which is something I haven't used in years, so I was curious to try some out again. I really enjoy buying beauty products in DM every now and then, a I dislike spending a lot of money on make-up and the like, so shops like these are always fantastic to find cheap but good quality products.

Over the knee

Even though I'd been looking for over the knee boots for over a year now, I properly got hooked on them this Autumn when I discovered these absolute beauties on Asos through another blogger. I loved everything about them - the suede look, the chunky heel and the fact that they would probably even fit my legs (believe me - finding fitting high raising boots is one big pain in the ass for me) I saw them on more and more bloggers but was either too broke to afford them myself or they were out of stock in my size. When I recently found out that Asos still had a 20% deal going on and the boots were back in stock in my size... well, we all know what happened. They arrived yesterday and fit like a gloooove and I can't wait to wear them! I'm currently looking for some inspiration on how to style them - do you have a favourite way to wear over the knee boots?

ALEXANDER WANG X H&M

Even though I'm a little bit late to the party (as usual), I finally took some time to really look at the collection Alexander Wang released for H&M a few days ago. I've personally never bought anything from a designer collaboration with H&M (shock of the year), simply because the prices still put me off to do so or I never really bothered to really look at what the designers had created. I'd been seeing little sneak peaks of Wang's collection on other blogs, so I kind of had an idea what was coming our way this year. Some pieces I really like, some I find absolutely hideous but in general, I love Wang's concept of sporty day-wear. One of my favourite things about the collection is probably the amount of neoprene used and the boxiness of a lot of the pieces, giving off a little bit of a masculine vibe at times, while there's still plenty of body-con dresses to be found. If I were to spend some money on the Alexander Wang x H&M collection, I'd probably buy some of the things I put together in the picture above. (even though I wouldn't actually get the backpack - it's real leather :( ) What do you think about this year's collaboration? Have you gotten yourself anything?

October Wishlist

Turtleneck sweaters - clearly, these have been back around since last Autumn/Winter and I own one or two turtleneck sweaters myself, but I currently can't stop looking at them online! To me, the perfect sweater would have a quite wide turtleneck and fit rather loosely than be super tight. Knitted versions (non-scratchy, please!) are the ones I'm loving the most at the moment, especially if they come in pretty colours (e.g. this camel sweater - the perfect basic!) or even with some print.

Boots with chain detail are something I've in particular seen on I Dress Myselff's blog and Instagram and even though I wasn't so keen on them at first, I really started liking them and now I find myself looking for a cheaper alternative online. The feel very classic-with-a-twist to me, which is always great because they can become a staple piece without being too classic. These shoes look simply fabulous with black skinnies!

Sweater dress - this is probably part of my yearly sweater obsession around this time of the year, but sweater dresses have an extra bonus: they're an entire outfit! A comfy sweater dress with boots or even trainers screams Autumn in my opinion and getting one in black or grey makes it the perfect, versatile piece to combine with all shorts of shoes, coats and accessories.

Ponchos are something I remember wearing when I was 8, either loving or hating them. I'm back on the loving-wagon and can't get over the 'Oh I just threw this on'-vibe you immediately get when someone's wearing a poncho. I'm particularly loving tribe-patterned ponchos or anything brown/beige to switch it up from the usual black and grey which is around a lot this time of the year.

Classic black watch - this was kind of an impulse decision to add to the list, because it's more of an all-time-wishlist-item, but I feel like a classic watch with a black wristband is very Autumn-y. (yes, it might just be me thinking this way) It adds an interesting and elegant detail to an outfit and is of course also sooo practical if you have to keep an eye on the time and don't want to search for your phone in your maaaaassive bag every time you need to check the time. (*pointing finger at self*)

I was pretty surprised by the many different shops that are in Rotterdam - I have to say that it came very close to UK shopping standards, haha! I ended up buying quite a few things, including some pieces that are probably not the most practical to wear in August, but I got a couple of things on sale and who am I to say no to beautiful sale finds? Hopefully, I'll be able to show you at least some of the items in outfit posts soon!

Hey guys! Unfortunately, I have to keep this post quite short, as I'm (once again) running late and doing my make-up and cooking lunch simultaneously so that I don't miss my bus, haha! I picked up a couple of things here and there over the last week or so and just quickly wanted to show you what those things are. The rings from the first picture were already mentioned in my 'Current Favourites' post and the choker necklace is probably no surprise, as I made a post about them quite recently. The earrings are just something I couldn't walk past without buying them! The espadrilles (the red shoes) I got for 3,45€ (!) and I've been going back to the store to get them in other colours but I haven't found any in my size yet. The boots are the kind of shoes that I'd been looking for all autumn/winter, so when I found them for a price of ~30€, it was a no-brainer for me. The orange thing from Asos is an off-shoulder jumpsuit which I yet have to decide how to wear and the patterned shorts were quite honestly an impulse buy because I'm absolutely in love with loose fitting, light shorts! I'll try to get some outfit pictures done again soon, so you'll hopefully see most of these items worn! Have a nice Wednesday (and don't forget to watch Pretty Little Liars!!) x

New In

Since the weather was beyond gorgeous yesterday (and it still is today and tomorrow, yay!), I decided to leave my room for the afternoon and spend it near the sea instead. I spent at least an hour laying on the beach, listening to music and soaking up some sunshine, before I felt like taking a stroll through Primark before getting something to eat and heading back home. I bought the bag, red skort and paisley patterned kimono in the picture in Primark and the necklace is from H&M. Being the perfectionist I tend to be sometimes, I hated it that my desk (aka background in the picture) changed its colour depending what I took picture of on it, so I came up with the idea of throwing everything into one picture. I'll try to show my new things in outfit ASAP though, especially since I've got something new coming up, outfit-wise... stay tuned! x

NEW IN

Urban Outfitter - I've been thinking about getting myself some pretty, golden dainty necklaces and when the two out of three of these were on sale for £5 instead of £10 (the middle one was £10 though), I couldn't resist them! I most likely will wear at least two, if not all three of them together, just to spice up a simple outfit a little bit.

 H&M - As I mentioned in my latest Wishlist post, I had set my mind onto these checker pants from H&M and when my bank account allowed it, I finally got them! They fit similarly to my suit pants I'm wearing in my last outfit post, so they're super comfortable and I love that they aren't just one plain colour but they're still easy to combine with other things!

 Topshop - The purchase of these beauties wasn't actually planned, but how gorgeous are they? I can't get over how comfortable my leopard slip-ons from H&M are, so when I saw these, I knew I had to have them! I was a bit unsure whether to get these beautiful powder pink ones or plain white ones (with the same pattern though) but I decided to go for a little bit of colour and I'm glad I did!

 River Island - As I'm leaving to Turkey in two days, a new bikini was on the top of my list and I decided to go for something different than H&M, haha! I love the simplicity of the colours on this one, but the material/pattern/whatever you'd call it gives it a special something and somehow makes it look more.. edgy, you know what I mean?

 Urban Outfitters - Even though this bralet was £16 - which in my opinion, is ridiculously expensive - I'd been thinking about purchasing it to wear under my sheer blouses for months now, so I finally caved and bought it! Just as I expected, it looks fabulous under see-through tops and the colour is beyond gorgeous.

Pull & Bear - The last store my friends and I visited on our big shopping day was Pull & Bear, and having recently not been as interested in that shop as I used to be, I really didn't expect to buy anything, especially since I could already see my bank account suffering, haha! Nevertheless, while I was waiting for my friends to finish their shopping there, I tried these sandals on and... well, they were like glued to my feet. They were rather expensive (£50) but I'm sure that they're a good investment, as I'd been thinking about getting chunky-ish sandals for summer for a while now.

White Blazer After seeing the classic blazer popping up in white here and there lately, I've been considering to get one myself. I have a love-hate relationship with blazers, (I'm probably the only only in the world with that issue haha) as I really do like the smart and sophisticated look they can give an outfit, while I at the same time hate looking too smart for everyday life, unless it's for a special event. However, I feel as if a white blazer looks less strict but still gives outfit a classic and sharp touch, without making it look like I'm off to a job interview!

Skort Ever since I recently purchased a white skort from H&M Divided, (outfits with it to be up soon!) I've been falling in love with the versatility of skorts and how easily they are combined. I'm currently in particular lusting after a tartan-like patterned skort and funnily, I'll be swapping a pair of shoes for the exact skort in this picture on Depop - jackpot! However, if I find more skorts in different colours and patterns, I can definitely see myself expanding my collection of skorts...

Fedora I'm one of those firm believers that I can't pull of hats or that they're too much for everyday life, but I really want to get over that and purchase a fedora! I love how easily it can transform a simple outfit and am determined to get over my 'fear' of looking overdressed during the day.

Checked pants I've been on the lookout for rather loose checked pants for at least 2 months now and I finally found a beautiful pair in the H&M online shop (these to be exact) which I am determined to get as soon as I have some money and time again to go into Brighton!

Lace Bralet(s) This is another item I've been eyeing with for a while but never actually bought because I never liked how it looked on me in the end. However, I decided that I need to wear my sheer shirts more often, so a pretty lace bralet is a must when I don't always want to wear bandeaus which I have to pull up every two minutes. For now, I particularly want a black bralet but I wouldn't mind finding another one in a pretty colour to spice it up a little bit.

Bikini The two bikinis in this collage aren't a particular kind/colour/pattern I'm looking for, but I didn't want to spend hours scrolling through bikinis on Polyvore so this'll have to do! Since I'll be lying on the beach in Turkey in less than 3 weeks, (!) I really want to find a new bikini. My plan is to look through the bikinis at Urban Outfitters, as they always have the coolest patterns there. If I'm not able to find one with a nice pattern though, a white bikini will do too, as it's something I've been thinking about getting for a little while now as well.

Distressed Boyfriend Jeans Now these are nothing new, as they've been on my wishlist for a quite a while already, but I stumbled over a very nice looking pair from Missguised a couple of days ago and I am determined to go try them on! I'm quite picky when it comes to boyfriend jeans as I don't want them to be either too skinny or too loose or too light or too dark. The jeans I've got in mind are these.

After having saved up for a couple of weeks, I finally had enough money saved up to buy a new iPhone! I was a bit unsure about which colour to pick, but I'm so glad I went for the white one. I haven't fully set everything up with the sim card but I've already been snapping pictures with it and I'm in looove with the camera! After having bought the phone, my friend and I had a quick stop at Urban Outfitters and I ended up buying a new wallet and this gorgeous pair of shoes. My wallet broke on Friday, so I was more than happy to immediately find a pretty one at Urban Outfitters, it's perfect for my way too many cards and change and how darn cute is the turtle decoration? The shoes are something I've been looking for all summer last year and when I stumbled upon them in the shop, I knew that I had to buy them! I can't wait to wear them, especially since they look good worn with black tights too, so I won't have to wait until it gets a bit warmer to wear them.

Latest Purchases

I didn't actually buy this, but a friend who came to visit me here at the beginning of February gave this as a little present to me and my friend here and I thought I'd include it in this post. It's a set with a piece of soap, a small tube of hand cream and a small tube of cream for your feet - so cute and it smells so nice too!

I  got tired of having to untangle my necklaces all the time, so I finally caved and bought this necklace/jewelry holder and I'm so glad I did - it makes my shelf look more organised and more decorated. (it's from a shop called TIGER in case anyone is interested)

When I had a stroll through |Urban Outfitters when my friend came to visit, I had a really hard time resisting to spend money there as I started saving up for a phone, but I spontaneously bought these beauutiful earrings, they're so delicate! I haven't worn them yet but I can imagine them looking very pretty with a high bun, red lipstick and a very simple outfit.

I originally went to H&M with my family only to buy tights, but shortly after I went back on my own to have a sneaky look through their new collection and I found these beautiful slip-ons. Since they were on this month's wishlist, I had to seize the opportunity and bought them - for £25!

Another thing I bought at H&M yesterday is this white sweater - I simply love how it can be easily combined due to its colour but the kind of pattern on it still gives it that little touch that makes it that much more interesting!

Just a little update on my life; I spent the last 2 days with my family as they came to visit - which explains why it got quiet on the blog - and today's my birthday, so I'll be celebrating and enjoying the day with friends and then I have to dive into a pile of work this weekend! I hope you all have a fabulous day, I know I will! xo

Sale finds

Urban Outfitters - I got this amazingly comfortable sweater for £25 instead of £40, which felt like a real bargain considering it is from Urban Outfitters, so I just went with it and I'm so glad!

Urban Outfitters - This sweater has to be one of my favourite sale purchases. It was quite difficult to take pictures of it as has different patterns on the front/back/sleeves of the sweater but I'll try to show it properly in an outfit post!

Urban Outfitters - This is actually a t-shirt and was quite a spontaneous buy, simply because I liked the pattern. I'll probably cut it shorter and cut off the sleeves, so I can wear it as crop top, you'll definitely see this in an outfit when I'm done 'editing' it!

Urban Outfitters - The picture doesn't do this beautiful top any justice at all, so I'll just leave it like this and show you in an outfit soon!

Urban Outfitter - As always when being done lookin through clothes at Urban Outfitters, I can't help but go rummage through the decoration/useless-stuff-I-really-need section and this time I ended up bringing this cute, pink elephant home. It's a piggy bank and it was on sale for £4 and I'm so glad I bought it as it really brightens up my shelf!

Topshop - Even though Topshop is one of my favourite shops, I was a tad disappointed about the sales. Maybe it was the fact that the shop ended up being crammed with people in a too little space, but I came out of it with a purchade nevertheless; this black, shiny midi skirt! It was on sale for £10 but ai even it for a little bit less thanks to my student card! This skirt is a bit unusual and out of my comfort zone, but I think it'll look great with a simple cropped t-shirt and ballet flats.

Primark - This necklace and the top below are the only two things I didn't buy in the sales, but they're from Primark, so they were still a bargain. I don't have much to say about the necklace other than that I love how it's quite decorative while being simple in a way that it can be combined with almost every top!

Primark - The picture doesn't properly show this, but it's a cream coloured cropped top - simple but always good to own.

River Island - I completely forgot that this top was not on sale either but I still wanted to show it to you! You've pobably already seen me wearing it in a more recent post (where I'm sitting on the beach). It's a size 16, meaning it's pretty much gigantic on me but it works so well with highwaisted jeans or skirts!

Debenhams - Finally, before leaving the mall as the shops were starting to close, I quickly headed into Debenhams and wow, am I glad I did! I spontaneously tried these beautiful heels on and when I saw that they were only £18 (the original price being £60!), I just couldn't leave without them. I'll hopefully get to wear them soon when going out!

PS: I'm sorry about the bad updates lately, but my laptop decided to not work again, so I had to completely restore it and everything, but hopefully I'm back to regular blogging now!

Berlin Shopping

Luckily, my friend and my suitcase arrived on Wednesday afternoon, so I didn't lose all my shopping and main part of favourite clothes, phew! I did quite a bit of sales shopping back in Brighton too over the last couple of days but I decided to make a separate post about those purchases. Here's what I bought in Berlin...

Black and dark blue (lightly washed and with 'ripped' accents) from Gina Tricot. I wasn't actually planning on buying jeans, especially not skinny ones, but this model called Kristen was too perfect for me not to buy them. Also, I've been quite disappointed by my Dr Denim jeggings as they keep on getting holes... The jeans finish above the ankle and are super skinny and I absolutely adore the zippers at the end! They were 50€ each which makes them the most expensive thing I bought in Berlin.

Ever since I got my blue turtleneck sweater from Asos for Christmas, I've been wanting to add another wide turtleneck sweater to my wardrobe and this one is simply perfect! It's a tiiiiiny bit itchy but it's super thick and I got it for 10€ instead of 65€ in the Weekday sales (bargain or what?!)

This purchase isn't really fashion related, but when I was in Urban Outfitters, I (as usually) had a hard time walking past all their decoration stuff and books without buying anything, so I ended up buying these two notebooks. They were pretty expensive at 9€ a piece, but I'm sure that they'll cheer me up a little bit while working on my Uni notes, hah...

This blouse is from Weekday as well, but I bought it at the full price of 35€. Its simplicity caught my eye and I'm a major sucker for anything striped, so I couldn't leave without it.

I've been wanting an asymmetrical or 'wrap' skirt for a while now and this one was on sale for 10€ only at Gina Tricot, so it was quickly decided that I needed it in my wardrobe!

This lovely top from Zara was also a sales find at 20€ which I bought quite spontaneously, simply because it's so pretty!

Anyone who's been reading my blog for 2-3 months now, knows that I've been looking for a tartan scarf for what feels like forever, so when I finally found this one, I didn't mind spending 29€ on it at Urban Outfitters!

With all these great finds and even more sales addition added to my wardrobe, I can't wait to take tons of outfit pictures! Some of them will be up tomorrow already xo
