4 documentaries to watch

Sunday, 25 October 2015

No, I have not dropped off the face of earth, I've just found myself sick, busy with Uni work and generally procrastinating blogging, simply because I'm lacking inspiration and still learning to float instead of drown in that thing called third year...
Over the past two weeks, I've been watching a lot of documentaries (re-watched two, actually) and I thought that I'd share the ones I've watched and enjoyed with you. With the temperatures dropping, inviting us to stay inside and have tea on the couch whilst watching something in the evenings, I've increasingly been watching all sorts of things, including tv shows (duh) and movies, but documentaries in particular have been a favourite of mine. I love the feeling of learning something while watching a documentary on an interesting topic and I love sharing documentary tips about themes I'm passionate about with other people even more. Funnily enough, I realised that the four documentaries I want to share with you can be divided in two categories only: nutrition/food choice and fashion. So if these themes are of interest to you, make sure to check out the following documentaries...

Begin Again

Jeune et jolie

The Hundred Foot Journey

Palo Alto

Magic in the Moonlight

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been to the cinema quite a few times and I've spent more than one evening on the couch with the girls watching a movie. As it's slowly starting to get colder, (I can't believe I'm actually this excited about that!) cozy movie nights with scented candles, big mugs of tea and blankets are moving higher and higher up on my list of things that I enjoy doing. Therefore, I decided to share my joy and name 5 movies which I watched recently and think you should watch too! I thought about writing a little something about each movie, but I'm scared I'll end up telling you more than I should be before you've even seen it, so I left a trailer link under each movie! Some of them are/might be in the cinemas at the moment, others can probably be found on the internet, so watch away and do leave me any suggestions for movies to watch! Have a cozy Sunday night x

PS: giving out some bonus points for The Hundred Foot Journey because that main actor is just too delicious not to watch the movie

Movies

Monday, 14 October 2013

Ironically enough, I've spent more time watching movies with my flatmates and friends since I moved in at Uni than going out. I think I yet have to discover the good places to go to and I have to stop spending all my money on coffee and clothes in order to be able to afford a good night out, haha! Now, since I have re-watched quite a few movies recently, I decided to share which ones I loved the most and hopefully you'll be inspired to stay in with tea, cozy blankets and one of these movies, because really - I loved them all!

Les intouchables
After having watched this movie for the first time about a year ago, I rewatched it with some friends yesterday and it just made me love the movie even more. This movie is so heartbreakingly sad and beautiful and extremely funny at the same time! I also love that it's a French movie, as it's nice to see a change from the usual American movies.

Some like it hot
I remember watching this movie in French with my dad years and years ago and I already found it really funny back then, even though I didn't understand everything. Some like it hot is also the only movie I've seen with Maryling Monroe so far and it's one of the few black and white movies I've seen and would not mind rewatching a hundred times! This movie has certainly encouraged me to go on a Maryling Monroe movie hunt!

Catch me if you can
Catch me if you can is a must-see for every Leo fan out there (I am slowly converting into one), showing him as a young, handsome and wicked boy scamming his way through life. The movie is packed with funny scenes and even though it leaves a bitter taste after having watched it. (even if it does end somehow happily) I can feel myself getting more and more into older movies, as I feel like many of the actual/new movies that are in the cinemas right now repeat stories that have been previously used in other movies. And seriously though, this movie is already worth watching for that man candy.

Lovelace
Once again, Amanda Seyfried has played her role brilliantly, this time as Linda Lovelace her newest movie. Before watching it, I had read a pre-review in the English Glamour and I immediately knew that I wanted to watch it! Amanda portrays Linda perfectly and the movie is full of beautiful, happy scenes but it also shows the harsh and negative sides of the porn business, which left me thinking for quite a while after I had finished watching the movie.

Have you watched any movies that you loved recently? Do leave me any suggestions as I'll have lots of evenings to fill with good movies.

Movie Suggestions?

Sunday, 4 December 2011

My dad went to Madagascar with a friend for two weeks two months ago and his friend took this picture. I don't know why, but I find it so beautiful, thought I'd share it on here

I just finished my spanish essay and now I'm gonna watch some trailers on youtube to decide which movies I should download. I already downloaded Breaking Dawn, I think I'm going to watch it tonight. (Yes, I watch the movies, yes I read the books but yes, the books are much better than the movies, but I still want to see them) Talking about movies - do you have any suggestions on movies worth watching? Any kind of movie is ok, just drop suggestions below or here, they'd be appreciated! :)

KOKOWÄÄH

Sunday, 13 February 2011

So the movie we went to see yesterday was amazing, loved it! If you haven't seen it yet, go watch it, it's totally worth the money! Oh, but it's a german movie, so unfortunately you gotta understand german.. Anyways! Before going to the cinema, Jil and I bought popcorn, ice cream, tucs and vitaminwater and ate it.. all, haha! The cinema was so full that the staff even had to move people one place to the right/left so that everyone gets a seat, haven't experienced that anytime before! Afterwards, we went to town since everything was full of people in the cinema, had a drink and took the bus home. I had a really good time and I hope to soon see her again :)
