January inspiration & plans

Thursday, 7 January 2016

pictures via my tumblr

One week into the new year, a total 11 000 words worth of essays submitted and I can finally enjoy the month of January. Up until this morning, my main focus (and source of stress) were my deadlines today, which have been keeping me busy for almost two months and were one of the reasons for the lack of updates. Now that I'm free until the end of January, I can finally focus on blogging a little bit more again, before my last term of University starts.
The one thing I'm looking forward to the most this month is the trip I'll be going to in two days: I'm going back to New York City - and this time for even longer than the last time I went! I'm incredibly excited to visit the city in winter, walk around wrapped up in my coat and scarf, warm up drinking coffee in the cutest spots, go ice skating in Central Park and discover more of the city. Naturally, I will be taking lots of pictures during my stay there, so stay tuned for travel and outfit posts as well as the one or other Vegan Eats post - if that's something you'd like to see more of for New York?
At the end of the month, I'll be going home for a week to spend some more time in Luxembourg and with my family before coming back to Brighton for the craziness that the next term will bring. Apart from my deadlines today, this month seems like the perfect start of 2016! What are your plans? Are you going anywhere exciting this month or in 2016 in general? Did you make any new year's resolutions?

October Inspiration & Thoughts

Saturday, 3 October 2015

While September wasn't as much of a slow start into my third year of Uni as I expected, October marks the month of being busy and hopefully as productive as possible. I'm really feeling like I need to change gears and just go all in regarding Uni but even personal development and hopefully figure out my future plans for the time after I graduate next Summer (next Summer already! How why what?). It's also the time to get back into a good gym routine, which already seems to happening right now as I seem to be crazy enough to book five different gym classes a week. Someone want to come scrape me off the floor?
Style wise, I'm looking forward to the temperatures going down - but as I said, that is stylewise because I have been surprisingly enjoying the warm temperatures we've had for so long this year and am a tad bit sad about Summer being over whilst contemplating moving to California in a year or so. The last two weeks have blessed us with almost entirely amazing weather with lots and lots of sunshine but that also meant that the big sweaters had to stay in the closet if I didn't want to melt in them under the warm Autumn sun. I'm excited to share a few more Autumn inspired outfits with you, one of which I already shot today.
I'm planning to spread out Interrail posts (including Vegan Eats posts) over the next couple of weeks, so you'll see the one or other travelling post popping up here or there but I also want to get back to "regular" blogging, sharing my everyday life, outfits and inspirations with you.
Dang, October really does look like a busy month so far. What about you?

PS: avocados are always relevant. Always.

August Inspiration & Plans

Sunday, 2 August 2015

Now that the month of July has turned the corner and waved goodbye, it's time to see what August has in store for me. While I spent all of July at home, sunbathing, meeting friends and enjoying the freedom of spending hours on end watching tv shows or reading books, I will almost constantly be on the go in August. Starting tomorrow, when my family and I will head to Brighton for two weeks for our holiday, August will be one heck of a busy month for me. I'll finally get to see other parts of England that I haven't had a chance to visit yet and I will finally experience Brighton in the middle of summer, with overcrowded beaches and all. After that, I'll be back home for barely a week before I'm off to what I'm hoping to become one of my biggest, most adventurous trips so far: I'll be on the road for almost four weeks with a group of friends, starting our journey in Berlin and then interrailing through Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Croatia (beach here I come!). I'm beyond excited as I'll get to discover 4 new countries and 5 new cities, spend time with some of my best friends and stay at the most adorable flats. On that note: do any of you have suggestions of things to do (and even places to eat?) in Gdansk, Warsaw, Prague and Budapest? Any tips will be greatly appreciated!
Given that most of my August will be spent travelling, I thought that this month's inspiration/mood board should be filled with roadtrip pictures, the sea and beaches! What are your plans for this month?

While I spent most of the last few days doing Uni work, February slowly started waving goodbye and March popped around the corner today... I'm still surprised that we're now already in the third month of 2015. Thinking about the new month lying ahead, I found myself to think further than March. I'll mainly be busy with Uni the next few weeks but I'll also have my dad visit me in a week, which I'm super excited about and I'll hopefully be going to London again as well. Thinking further ahead, I unfortunately won't be able to go on my favourite holiday with my family (crappy University holiday schedule...) but I've organised a trip to a place I've been dreaming to visit for years now.. can you guess where I'll be flying in May? I'm generally happy about all the sunshine we've been seeing here in Brighton over the last week or two and am hoping for more and more sunshine, as it really does brighten my mood and allows me to walk more! I also had my first ever Açai smoothie today and I'm still over the moon by how delicious it was and planning to buy Açai to make my own smoothies and bowls at home.

A little bit of inspiration to start into the first month of February. Here's to hoping that the sun stays and the temperatures go up. February will be filled with seeing friends and family, turning 20 (what?!) and lots of work. Who else is impatiently awaiting spring?

Style Inspiration: Chiara Ferragni

Monday, 5 January 2015

It's no secret that blogger Chiara Ferragni has been receiving more and more attention in 2014. Even though I used to not be her biggest fan, checking her blog every now and then but that was it, I've been more and more inspired by her fashion sense since I started following her on Instagram. I love how she plays with fashion, wearing wild combinations of cuts, colours and shapes and always looking cool and chic at the same time. I'm not one to make a lot of New Year's resolutions, but maybe you could count this one as one: I want to become more free when experimenting with fashion, buy more statement pieces and get out of my comfort zone every now and then. Enough blabbering about my goal now, here are some of my favourite looks of her - all pictures were taken from her blog The Blonde Salad.

December Inspiration

Monday, 1 December 2014

all pictures are from my tumblr and pinterest

For me, December will be all about staying warm and cozy and drinking too much tea and coffee. I'll be busy with Uni work before heading home end of next week and I'll have to prepare for an exam in January whilst home, but I've also got a lot of fun things planned over the next couple of weeks, so Uni work will hopefully be balanced out with fun stuff to do. At the end of this week, I'll be going to Zurich for the first time with my friend and I already have my fingers crossed that we might even get to see some snow! (let's hope I didn't just jinx it) I'll be spending my last two weeks in the UK with dinners with friends and discovering vegan treats here and there, (which will of course be featured in my Vegan Eats category!) going out and enjoying the Christmassy atmosphere here in Brighton. Especially since I moved away to go to Uni a bit over a year ago, I get ridiculously excited about Christmas, as this holiday also means that I'll be able to spend some time at home after having been away in another country for several weeks or even months at once! Do you know what your December will look like already?

November Inspiration

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

After days of drinking too much coffee and being too tired and lazy to update the blog after having done a lot of Uni work, I am free-ish tomorrow afternoon once my essay is handed in. This'll mean no more deadlines for me until January, hopefully giving me more time to focus a bit more on the blog again. I will still be busy doing things here and there, getting a headstart on my next assignment but I'm motivated to blog more again and actually have quite a few post ideas I'm currently working on, so stay tuned and enjoy my this month's inspiration board for now. 3 Oufits I'd like to wear

Autumn Outfit

Autumn Outfit

Alongside the usual black and grey palette that always comes back around this time of the year, I've been loving the combination of black and navy more and more. The skirt and cropped sweater outfit was actually inspired by my own clothes, as I'd been planning to wear something similar for a while now but never got around wearing it and taking good pictures. I'm currently too broke to afford anything new, so I got myself dreaming a little bit on Polyvore and put these 3 outfits together. I can't decide which one's my favourite though... what do you think?

PS: If you want to help out my empty wallet (or just have a sneaky look at my clothes), then go on and head over to my DEPOP! I've been adding a few items recently and more will probably be added over the next couple of days/weeks.

October Inspiration

Saturday, 11 October 2014

I felt like it was time to post a small inspiration post again - I kept it simple this time with only a few pictures from my tumblr, as I just finished working on a post that's a little different from my usual posts and it will probably be published within the next couple of days.

August Inspiration

Thursday, 28 August 2014

all pictures are from my tumblr

Since I've arrived in Luxembourg Monday night, I've mainly been busy catching up with friends, so blogging wasn't exactly a priority at the moment. Additionally, my camera remote died, so I had to get new batteries and now that I've finally got new ones, I can hopefully take some outfit pictures soon. Until then, I thought it'd be time for a small inspiration post again!

Outfit Inspo

Outfit Inspo

Since it's raining (or at least it was when I started making this post) and I don't have the patience to play around with my camera remote and am quite frankly too lazy to get dressed properly, I decided to go on Polyvore and put together some outfits I like. Unlike usually, I went on the website and started creating looks but without having a specific outfit in mind. I simply clicked my way through the items that were on display and created outfits out of the suggestions I got. Sometimes I had the idea to add a specific item to an outfit I was creating, but I wanted to create outfits without organising them in my head, which led to combinations that I might wouldn't have thought of otherwise. I also found out that doing this made me want to own all kind of things I didn't even know I wanted?! Hmmm... And is it just me or do you also feel that if there was an app or program where you could 'upload' the content of your wardrobe and try out combinations virtually, you'd come up with new ways to wear things? I think I'll go google if such an app exists..!

Style Inspo: Kylie Jenner

Tuesday, 15 April 2014

Since I moved to the UK in September, I have started watching Keeping up with the Kardashians more or less regularly and - surprisingly - actually enjoyed it! The show is much more genuine and fun than I expected and I definitely have my moments where I wish I was a part of their family, haha! However, this post will not be about KUWTK, but about the youngest Kardashian, or rather Jenner in the family; Kylie. I recently started following some of the girls from the family on Twitter and Instagram and slowly but surely fell in love with Kylie's style. I love how she goes from classy to boho or comfy combinations and looks good every single time. The main inspiration I get from her style is to wear more accessories and to mix and match styles and patterns! And let's not forget - she's only 16! Say whaat? Here are some of my favourite looks that I found on several tumblrs.

March Inspiration

Just a little bit of inspiration for the end of the month... if everything goes as planned, I'll have an outfit post for tomorrow!
