Mini Instagram Diary

Sunday 27 July 2014

1: An outfit I wore about a week ago, as I said in the caption on Instagram, I felt very 'tumblr', aka wearing a cliché blogger look; ripped jeans and holographic shoes and bag, haha! 2: I adore discovering parts of my home country that still swipe me off my feet - sometimes you need to look around you more to see the beauty in your surroundings! 3: I bought these absolutely gorgeous boots in ZARA, would you believe me if I told you that I got them for 36€ instead of 120€ on sale? I still don't!
1: A friend of mine had a dinner with a bunch of girls at her house and it's safe to say that I gave her miniature dog enough cuddles for the following couple of days, hah! 2: Last Friday, I went out with a couple of girlfriends and curled my hair again since my proclamation (so I hadn't curled it in over a year!) I loved how it looked on me but as expected, it didn't last very long and the fact that we didn't have any hairspray to keep the hair in place, didn't help either.. :( 3: After having purchased my choker from asos a little while ago, I finally remembered to wear it (yes, I literally forget about some of my clothes etc) and I definitely have to wear it so much more, I love how it looks!

I'm keeping this post as short as possible but after having spent 8 weeks in Luxembourg and 6 of those sitting in an office, I am finally off to go on holidays with friends! I'm leaving to Rotterdam with a couple of days tomorrow. We'll include a short Amsterdam trip and when I'm back on Thursday evening, I'm already off to Mallorca again on Sunday - so excited! I will most definitely post during my trips, especially since holiday-blogging is my favourite kind of blogging. See you when I'm in the Netherlands! x

July outfit
Even though I've recently purchased a couple of new things which I really like and want to wear ASAP, I  haven't been motivated to make the effort to take pictures for the blog. However, my personal little photographer, aka my brother, is back home since Saturday, so hopefully I can get him to take some pictures of me soon, when I decide to wear something else than a skirt and basic top or jeans-and-top-combination. The weather has been absolutely ridiculous (for my taste particularly) with temperatures around 30 degrees one day and thunderstorm and rain the other, which is terribly uncomfortable for me as I hate it when it goes above 25 degrees (unless I'm lying near a pool or on a beach) or when it's really humid outside. As every fashion/outfit blogger out there, my blog is also very dependent on the weather, haha!
I'm still working this week, but I hope that I'll manage to squeeze in a post here and there nonetheless. For now, I decided to create three outfits on polyvore and funnily enough, every outfit contains at least one item which I actually own! Maybe I should try recreating these...

SUNNIES

Wednesday 16 July 2014

all via asos

Since having lost my favourite sunglasses a couple of weeks ago, (luckily, they were £5 glasses from Camden Lock - at least I didn't lose an expensive pair) I have been trying to fill the sunglasses-shaped hole in my heart. I have to admit, I haven't been looking around actively for sunglasses in different shops lately, but I decided that this matter at least deserved a small blog post and that I should definitely put more time into finding a new pair (or two?) before leaving for my summer trips. I went onto Asos (where else?) and quickly put this collage together. None of these I have spent a lot of time thinking about, it was rather an "oh I like!"-reaction, put together into a collage, so you get an idea what kind of sunglasses I like the most at the moment.
As it's already quite obvious in the picture, my tendencies go towards round or cat-eye-shaped sunglasses. I have to face the truth though and realise that pretty much all cat-eye-shaped sunglasses look odd on me. Colour-wise, I'm always a bit unsure when it comes to plain black sunglasses (even though I love love the look of them!) as they are very bold - which can be very good of course - and I don't have the biggest face or tannest skin. Which are your favourites from the collage? The ones that speak to me the most right now are: 2nd row, left; 3rd row left and 3rd row right!

PS: excuse the somewhat messy look of the collage, (there are random borders in the picture...?) but since I never have time to update at home, I went free-style and put this collage together on an online program while having some spare time at work!

CURRENT FAVOURITES

Thursday 10 July 2014

1. Couscous with grilled/baked vegetables (e.g. tomatoes, bell pepper, courgette) and fresh mint. I love this meal because it is so very quick to make - you don't even need to cook the couscous! (well, in most cases) It only needs to be covered in hot water for 2-3 minutes and you can add the toppings of your choice. I usually also add avocado, dried tomatoes or anything else I have lying around and season it with sriracha, balsamic dressing and other spices of my choice. This is also delicious when it's cooled down and the perfect meal to bring to a BBQ party.
2. Yes, food again but you'll want to try these, I'm telling you. I recently finally managed to find rice paper in a grocery store and I'm loving it! You simply have to soak it in hot water for a minute or two and then you can fill it with the veggies of your choice. I usually fill them with avocado, bell pepper, cucumber and fresh coriander leaves and if I'm not feeling too lazy, I'll cook up some rice to make it more filling. My favourite sauce to eat with these is made out of chopped coriander, soy sauce, sriracha and a splash of lemon juice - yum! This is a particularly good meal for those hot days when you feel like eating something light and tasty.
3. Even though it's been 3 (or 4?) weeks since I changed my cartilage piercing, this is still one of my favourites at the moment. In case you've been around when I first got my piercing in January, you'll know that the original piercing was a pearl, which I did like very much but my whole motivation behind getting this piercing in the first place was to be able to wear a ring! After waiting for it to heal as good as possible, I finally found a shop where they had rings I liked (only found colourful ones and ones with the ball-thingies on them) and they were even so kind to put it in for me. It hurt quite a lot and bled more than I thought it would but I'm so so happy with it!
4. When I bought the British InStyle magazine a while ago, (something I don't usually do) this pretty pink nailpolish came along with it. I tried it on out of curiosity and I absolutely love it! It's very much of a Barbie colour and I adore how flirty it looks and feels. The quality is better than I expected, too.
5. Ever since I found Lana's new album Ultraviolence online, I've been listening to it non-stop. It took me a while to jump on the Lana-bandwagon and I definitely have phases where I don't listen to her music at all but that phase is definitely not now! She just has this unique voice and her songs are so relaxing, yet they have brilliant lyrics. I decided to add my current favourite tunes from her album below, enjoy!

JULY

Thursday 3 July 2014

all things are from choies/jennyfer/h&m/tally weijl/zara

After a very unexpected break from the blog, I am back with more time and motivation on my hands. The truth is that, other than being busy because of my internship, I also got very lazy when it came to blogging, but since I finished the internship last week and am now on holiday for another 10 days, I'm motivated to start blogging more again. In the picture above you can see most of the stuff that I bought lately and I'm very very excited to shoot outfit pictures with my new beautiful pieces. Unfortunately, one of the items I bought is already broken a bit *insert angry customer noise* but I'll try to get that fixed ASAP because it's one of the things I'm particularly excited about. This is it for today, talk to you soon (promise!) x
