The Hundred Foot Journey

Palo Alto

Magic in the Moonlight

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been to the cinema quite a few times and I've spent more than one evening on the couch with the girls watching a movie. As it's slowly starting to get colder, (I can't believe I'm actually this excited about that!) cozy movie nights with scented candles, big mugs of tea and blankets are moving higher and higher up on my list of things that I enjoy doing. Therefore, I decided to share my joy and name 5 movies which I watched recently and think you should watch too! I thought about writing a little something about each movie, but I'm scared I'll end up telling you more than I should be before you've even seen it, so I left a trailer link under each movie! Some of them are/might be in the cinemas at the moment, others can probably be found on the internet, so watch away and do leave me any suggestions for movies to watch! Have a cozy Sunday night x

PS: giving out some bonus points for The Hundred Foot Journey because that main actor is just too delicious not to watch the movie

Smock dress

dress: primark shoes: zara

Ever since I bought this super cute smock dress at Primark a couple of days ago, I've been wanting to share some pictures of it! It's easily the most comfortable piece of clothing I own and even though it's longer than all my other dresses and skirts, (while being shorter than my midi dresses and skirts) I couldn't resist it, especially since it cost the ridiculous price of £5! Coincidentally, I picked up these beauties of loafers a bit earlier on and they are just perfect together! The shoes go with pretty much everything and depending on how they're styled, they can give off both a masculine or feminine vibe.

As you may have noticed, I finally found a spot to take pictures in when I don't have anyone around to take outfit pictures of me and even though I was unsure about the backdrop at first, I think it adds a nice little something to this outfit, as it's mainly white but a bit rough as well due to the old doors. I'll hopefully be posting more outfits soon, as I'm slowly starting to get back into the swing of Uni!

Being the kind of person who gets way more inspired by streetstyle than by runway looks, (or anything else really - can anything beat good streetstyle?) I once again googled my way through the net and chose some outfits that I liked the most. Some of the bits I like the most are returning/still 'here' trends like tartan and denim tracksuits, others are more new but just as exciting, such as ponchos or shoes so pointy, you could stab someone with them.

Sleeve skirt

Thursday 18 September 2014

top: river island skirt: primark leather jacket: topshop bag: bershka shoes: nike

After spending numerous hours googling and buying things for the house, sitting on the floors putting together shelves and desks, my housemates and I are finally settling in into our house. Since we still have a couple of days off before starting Uni again on Monday, we spontaneously decided to take advantage of our free time and go to London for a day. We spent our day there walking for hours, (a total of 17km, actually!) getting more familiar with the city, eating good food, stopping for coffee and spending some money at Victoria's Secret. We ended our evening by going to watch the musical version of Charlie and the chocolate factory and arrived at home after midnight, exhausted but happy!
As it was quite warm, I decided to seize the occasion and go for bare legs, as you never know when the last warm days will appear here in England and I wore out my super bargain aka my sleeve skirt. Yes, you have guessed it - I got weak and took a stroll through Primark but hey - this skirt was reduced to £2, that justifies it, right? I don't know what exactly to think about this skirt other than it being funny and very practical to hide food babies! What do you think?

10 facts about me

Saturday 13 September 2014

1. I hate aldente pasta, I cannot stand it when it's too hard and it tastes almost exactly as if I was eating it raw! Same goes for rice - hard, barely cooked rice is an absolute nightmare for me.

2. My right front tooth is longer than my left one and even though I generally don't care about it, it really bugs me when you can see it on pictures!

3. When I sneeze, I usually sneeze at least two, and sometimes even up to five times in a row. My entire family finds it absolutely hilarious, my brother even says that my sneezes are cute, haha

4. I absolutely hate being late, it makes me incredibly nervous and uncomfortable. I sometimes think that I feel like this because I know exactly how annoying it is to have to wait for someone when they're late, as I'm used to be somewhere early, since I live quite far from the city when I'm in Luxembourg.

5. I wouldn't say that I have a phobia of spiders, but they disgust me so much. I can manage to kick out smaller ones if they're in my room/house but as soon as I see a bigger one, I freak out and have to leave the room, ewwww

6. I have the bad habit of rather buying clothes for less money that I won't love as long and I will get tired of more easily than investing in something that I will appreciate for a long time. This often results in me selling a lot of things on sites like Depop!

7. I can't stand it when I can feel the need to sneeze creeping up on me while I'm driving - this may sound a bit paranoid but I'm terrified of sneezing while driving, as I'm scared of closing my eyes for even a second, even if it's just because I'm sneezing.

8. I tend to keep way too much useless stuff in my wallet - especially recites I will never need again - until I can't find a single thing anymore and end up throwing everything out in one go.

9.  I am both a very lazy but still ambitious person, which are quite impractical traits to have at once. I either do nothing at all or I work my butt off!

10. I'm not a big bag lover, I will most likely have a couple of bags that I like and wear those until they're torn into shreds and only then consider buying a new one. I will always, always choose a pair of shoes over a new bag!

Life Update

Friday 12 September 2014

Since moving back to the UK for my second year of Uni a couple of days ago, I've spent most of my time running around Brighton running errands, unpacking boxes and discovering things I didn't even remember owning anymore and buying furniture. I'll be living in a cute little house with two girlfriends for the next year and even though it's all very exciting, I'm slowly learning how tiring being an adult really is, haha! Logically, I had everything but blogging on my mind, using my spare time to stuff my face with take out, but I am planning to make a room tour as soon as my room is completely done and tidy!

Typical Autumn Outfit / Hello September!

Monday 1 September 2014

pants, flannel: river island bag: berhska shoes: nike

It turns out that I was actually smart enough to leave my camera behind in France when coming back to Luxembourg earlier, resulting in  me not being able to take any pictures for the blog whatsoever. Fortunately, my family came back last night, so I now finally have my camera back to snap away!
I wore this outfit on Thursday and liked it so much that I felt like re-wearing it and taking pictures of it for the blog. Almost the entire outfit consists of pieces which I bought in Rotterdam! As already mentioned in the post title, this feels like a very typical Autumn outfit to me for this year, being obsessed with flannels and having found the puuuurfect (fake) leather pants! As soon as the temperatures drop, I can already see myself wearing this outfit with different pair of boots and a big coat or even a fur coat - okay, I definitely am getting a little bit excited about Autumn approaching... enough blabbering for now, enjoy your Monday x
