Life update

Friday 30 May 2014

Between partying, studying, moving out and enjoying my last days at Uni, I completely erased the fact that I have a blog from my mind. I arrived in Luxembourg a couple of hours ago and it's safe to say that I'm currently having a post-uni-blues and being a tad tispy from the champagne I just drank, I am a little bit emotional thinking about the fact that I've already finished my first year of Uni. I seriously don't know how it went by so fast, it feels like I moved into my room on campus just yesterday, when I was actually packing and carrying boxes to put into a storage all afternoon yesterday. I'm one of those typical nostalgia-people, - would you believe me that I still sometimes think about school and miss it? Well I do! Anyways, I'll be in Luxembourg for almost two months now, but luckily I'm starting a 4 week internship on Monday, so I hopefully won't feel too bored and lonely while pretty much everyone else I know is still at Uni or away on holiday. This does mean one thing though: I'll be able to update again! And if possible, regularly, ha. I'll try my best to be back tomorrow, enjoy your Friday night x

CHOKER NECKLACES

Saturday 24 May 2014

Choker necklaces are something I've been seeing on several girls/women lately, from Kylie Jenner to Jenna Marbles and I've started considering buying one (or two) for myself. I love the 90's vibe they create and how they come in all kinds of styles. I went on asos to have a look at their choker collection and picked out a couple of different ones that I like. I didn't expect to find so many different kinds of chokers, ranging from cute to classy or grungy. I haven't decided which necklace is my favourite yet but that just calls for more online 'window shopping'...! What do you think about these necklaces? Are you happy that they are back in style or should they stay in the 90's?

PS: I'm so in love with this song lately, I couldn't not share it on here. Clean Bandit are getting better and better!

3 Outfits

Friday 23 May 2014

Hey guys! I'm sorry for my absence over the past couple of days, but between going out and doing Uni work, I was working on something on the blog and it's finally done.
I've recently been watching a lot of different Youtube channels of all kind and I've gotten more and more curious about making videos myself. Since my friend who usually takes pictures of me for the blog isn't here at the moment, I decided to try making an outfit video with 3 outfits that I wore recently. Clearly, I'm not the best at editing videos or filming and my camera unfortunately doesn't auto-focus while filming, but I gave it a try anyway. The first outfit is from a random day, the second outfit is from when we had a little heatwave here on Monday and the third outfit is from when I went out on Monday night! I hope you enjoy the video and if you have any constructive criticism for me, do leave a comment below. Would you want me to do more of these videos in the future? :)

New In

Sunday 18 May 2014

Since the weather was beyond gorgeous yesterday (and it still is today and tomorrow, yay!), I decided to leave my room for the afternoon and spend it near the sea instead. I spent at least an hour laying on the beach, listening to music and soaking up some sunshine, before I felt like taking a stroll through Primark before getting something to eat and heading back home. I bought the bag, red skort and paisley patterned kimono in the picture in Primark and the necklace is from H&M. Being the perfectionist I tend to be sometimes, I hated it that my desk (aka background in the picture) changed its colour depending what I took picture of on it, so I came up with the idea of throwing everything into one picture. I'll try to show my new things in outfit ASAP though, especially since I've got something new coming up, outfit-wise... stay tuned! x

Tunes

Thursday 15 May 2014

I've been back at Uni for almost a week now and worked on my assignment practically every day and one of the things that helps me concentrate and motivates me when I'm tired of working is good music that I've recently discovered. Since I don't have many pictures to make posts with, I decided to share some of my favourite tunes at the moment, enjoy x

Shadows

Saturday 10 May 2014

shorts: topshop top: h&m shoes: nike kimono: primark sunglasses: camden lock

Hey guys! I took these pictures back in Turkey and kept them for a time like now, when I don't have the time or motivation to go outside to take pictures for the blog. I arrived back at Uni yesterday and I have to tell you that it will probably get a little quiet on the blog, as I have to focus on assignments and exams now, before I'm off for 3 and a half months of summer holidays. I'll try to update a couple of times a week though, I'll do my best!
Clearly, the outfit I'm wearing in these pictures isn't anything particularly special, but I especially like the place where they were taking - we had the most beautiful view and I couldn't resist taking pictures! Seeing these pictures makes me really miss Turkey, especially as the weather here in the UK is anything but sunny and warm... talk to you soon, hopefully! x

Maxi Cardigan

Tuesday 6 May 2014

top: zara pants: h&m cardigan: monki via asos shoes: topshop sunglasses: camden lock

I had been thinking about purchasing this maxi cardigan for at least two weeks now, after I first saw it on a couple of bloggers. However, what kept me from going through with it, was the thought of it looking unflattering on me, swallowing me up and making me look tiny! But when the price was still £18 (instead of £40!!) after all that time I spent thinking about getting it, I finally moved the cardigan into my basket on asos and bought it! And oh boy am I glad I did. It arrived yesterday morning and it's safe to say that I only took it off to go to sleep since I first put it on. I love how it's very simple and easy to match with all kinds of colours and patterns, yet still spices up a very simple outfit. The fact that it's actually pretty warm but much lighter than a coat makes it even more perfect and I can already see myself living in this beauty all Spring/Summer/Autumn!

Stripes

Saturday 3 May 2014

dress: h&m divided jacket: mango shoes: nike necklaces: urban outfitters

Over the last few days, I've come to the realisation that I have a serious problems when it comes to striped clothing. I went through a couple of shops and tried on a few things and I am not lying when I tell you that at least half of the things I took to the changing rooms with me were striped. The fact that I purchased two striped items within a couple of days doesn't exactly help for that matter! One of the two things I bought is the dress you can see above. It was only 10€, which is ridiiiiiiiculous for such a staple piece (in all the good ways of course), so naturally I couldn't resist! It's also nice that it's white stripes on black background rather than the other way around for once (you know what I mean?!) but I'm sure that nothing striped in my closet will be rarely worn as it's just such a timeless pattern/style! Do you have a specific weakness when it comes to shopping?

Polyvore Inspiration

Outfit Inspo

Outfit Inspo

Since it's raining (or at least it was when I started making this post) and I don't have the patience to play around with my camera remote and am quite frankly too lazy to get dressed properly, I decided to go on Polyvore and put together some outfits I like. Unlike usually, I went on the website and started creating looks but without having a specific outfit in mind. I simply clicked my way through the items that were on display and created outfits out of the suggestions I got. Sometimes I had the idea to add a specific item to an outfit I was creating, but I wanted to create outfits without organising them in my head, which led to combinations that I might wouldn't have thought of otherwise. I also found out that doing this made me want to own all kind of things I didn't even know I wanted?! Hmmm... And is it just me or do you also feel that if there was an app or program where you could 'upload' the content of your wardrobe and try out combinations virtually, you'd come up with new ways to wear things? I think I'll go google if such an app exists..!
