October Wishlist
my polyvore

Turtleneck sweaters - clearly, these have been back around since last Autumn/Winter and I own one or two turtleneck sweaters myself, but I currently can't stop looking at them online! To me, the perfect sweater would have a quite wide turtleneck and fit rather loosely than be super tight. Knitted versions (non-scratchy, please!) are the ones I'm loving the most at the moment, especially if they come in pretty colours (e.g. this camel sweater - the perfect basic!) or even with some print.

Boots with chain detail are something I've in particular seen on I Dress Myselff's blog and Instagram and even though I wasn't so keen on them at first, I really started liking them and now I find myself looking for a cheaper alternative online. The feel very classic-with-a-twist to me, which is always great because they can become a staple piece without being too classic. These shoes look simply fabulous with black skinnies!

Sweater dress - this is probably part of my yearly sweater obsession around this time of the year, but sweater dresses have an extra bonus: they're an entire outfit! A comfy sweater dress with boots or even trainers screams Autumn in my opinion and getting one in black or grey makes it the perfect, versatile piece to combine with all shorts of shoes, coats and accessories.

Ponchos are something I remember wearing when I was 8, either loving or hating them. I'm back on the loving-wagon and can't get over the 'Oh I just threw this on'-vibe you immediately get when someone's wearing a poncho. I'm particularly loving tribe-patterned ponchos or anything brown/beige to switch it up from the usual black and grey which is around a lot this time of the year.

Classic black watch - this was kind of an impulse decision to add to the list, because it's more of an all-time-wishlist-item, but I feel like a classic watch with a black wristband is very Autumn-y. (yes, it might just be me thinking this way) It adds an interesting and elegant detail to an outfit and is of course also sooo practical if you have to keep an eye on the time and don't want to search for your phone in your maaaaassive bag every time you need to check the time. (*pointing finger at self*)

What's currently on your wishlist?

Big scarf & shiny boots

Monday 27 October 2014

scarf, boots: zara pants: h&m sweater: new look
The other day, I decided that it was time to invest in another nice and big scarf for autumn and winter, as I'd otherwise probably be wearing my tartan scarf 24/7. I was lucky enough to find this beauuuutiful scarf in ZARA quite quickly and to be absolutely honest - it was very much of an impulse buy but I don't think I'll regret it! It's the perfect combination of  black & grey simplicity with a little extra touch because of the pattern and I've already worn it practically everyday since I got it. While putting this outfit together to take pictures for the blog, (yes, I wore this outfit solely to take pictures, haha) I realised that I hadn't worn by ZARA boots yet which I got back in summer, so naturally I had to dig them out of the closet! For some reason, I feel very Cruella De Vil and badass wearing them, which is never a bad thing though, right?

Windy Hove

Friday 24 October 2014

dress: primark coat: cos boots: topshop

Last Sunday, my friend and I decided not to spend our entire Sunday at home working, but leave the house and go enjoy the sunny weather in Hove, a town right next to Brighton. Having seen pictures of Hove before, we knew that there'll be some pretty spots to take pictures at, so I packed my camera and off we went! We were indeeed right about the pretty places in Hove and ended up taking pictures in front of these houses that immediately make you wonder how you accidentally landed in London! Even though it was sunny, the wind was so strong that in more than half the pictures we took, I'm either trying to balance myself or my face is completely covered by hair, haha. Clearly, these aren't the best pictures to show my outfit, but I couldn't not share them because I really do like the backdrop.

PS: I finally set foot into the world of Pinterest.. I'm still figuring out how it works, but I'd love for you to check it out! Click here or on the 'Pinterest' link at the top of the page!

4 Tips To Keep Yourself Motivated

Wednesday 22 October 2014

Having been at Uni for a bit over a year now, I know how it feels when you can see the workload getting more and more and you know that all you can do is work your way through it. Naturally, there's always those days where you have a motivation-low, but over the last year, I've gotten better at motivating myself or taking my mind off work for a couple of hours when my brain needed a break.
As my busy times are arriving soon, bringing presentations that need to be prepared and deadlines that need to be met, I am starting to go over a few different things on how to stay motivated and work hard until I handed everything in and can relax for a little bit. I found myself making a list of things that I can do in between work-sessions and thought to myself "why not share some of my ideas and tips with my readers?". I'm sure there's more of you out there who are currently at Uni or in school or even work during the day - but everyone needs some time-out and motivating moments! So without further ado, here are my 4 tricks and tips on how to stay motivated during busy times.

4 Blogger Outfits

Monday 20 October 2014

If you asked me what my main sources of inspiration are in fashion, chances are high that 'other bloggers' would be my answer. Therefore, I decided to share some blogger-love and chose 4 outfits I liked the most recently while scrolling through updates and updates of blogs I follow. Do leave me your current favourite blogger look (or one of your own recent looks!) in the comments section, as I'm always on the look out for new inspiration and of course, blogs.

How to brighten up a cloudy day...

Saturday 18 October 2014

sweater: h&m pants: river island boots: new look coat: zara

... buy a yellow coat! This might sound a tad cliché, but wearing my yellow coat really does make me happier on a grey, cloudy day (which we'll be having more and more of the next couple of weeks). I found this beauty in the ZARA sales back in Rotterdam this summer and after it immediately caught my eye, it was only a matter of seconds until I decided that I needed to get it. To top it off, it only cost me 40€ (about £30) when its original price was 80€! Helloooo bargain. Naturally, my friend and I had to take outfit pictures in front of this cool blue door, so now I feel like the pictures look a bit.. Swedish?

Undersized Closet is on Facebook!

Friday 17 October 2014

After thinking about making a Facebook page for my blog for months, (over a year, actually) I finally took the plunge today and did it. I yet have to find my way around it and need to make some small changes here and there, but the main part is done; My blog's got a Facebook page! *happy dance*
I really would appreciate it if you could head over to the page and give it a 'like'! I'll probably be posting extra pictures etc on there, so it's another way to stay up to date with my blog :) Enough rambling now, here's the link to my page!

Boyish in Fur

After months of hiding my fake fur coats away in my closet, (well, storage boxes actually...) I finally took my good old black fake fur out for a spin yesterday. I was originally feeling like I'll want to wear something comfortable and simple yesterday, so I threw on my flannel, paired it with my ripped jeans and decided on my vans, making this whole look feel very comfy and boyish. Trying to incorporate more accessories into my outfits, I also put on my elephant choker, which I stupidly forgot to take a pictures of when the pictures above were taken. Before heading out of the door, (because I was running late of course, as always) I grabbed my fur coat, thinking that it would give this look just the right twist, making it look more interesting and a little bit less 'I'm-an-8-year-old-boy'. Is it just me who seems to come up with the most interesting/random combinations when they're stressed and have literally 5 minutes to decide on an outfit?

PS: Ignore my dull face expression, I was probably thinking of all the work I needed to do once these pictures were taken, haha!

CHLOÉ S/S 2015 - Ready To Wear

Tuesday 14 October 2014

chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerBeing the kind of person who doesn't pull a lot of inspiration from runway looks and collections other than picking up colours or patterns I like from certain designers, I surprised myself when scrolling through my tumblr feed and stopping to look at some pictures from the Chloé Ready to Wear S/S 2015 collection more closely. I personally tend to find runway looks over the top, even when it comes to ready-to-wear collections, the different pieces often look too much and too arty for me to picture anyone - or particularly myself - wearing them. However, in this case I found myself drawn to the colours and cuts used in the Chloé collection and went on to look for a website that could provide me with more pictures from their newest collection.
chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerWhat caught my eye first was the use of the colour yellow, mustard yellow in particular. I am a big fan of brightening up outfits and even though this collection is a Spring/Summer one, it still inspired me not to ditch colour in my outfits in the upcoming months.
chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerTo remind us that this is, indeed a collection for the warmer days, there are several looks containing crochet elements, light cut outs and thin spaghetti straps. Other light colours like mint green and of course white also make an appearance and my favourite pieces are definitely the most simplistic, often uni-colour ones. Weirdly, the first thing that came into my mind when seeing this mustard coloured dress with crochet detail, was how pretty it would look combined with a chunky (cropped) sweater or a heavy coat and oversized navy scarf to make it wearable during the colder months.
chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerOther than the various light colours used in many looks, navy can be spotted a few times as well, catching my attention as I'm currently loving all things navy and I'm liking the way this colour has been incorporated into the collection in different styles, as seen on the three looks above.
chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerWhen it comes to the denim pieces, I'm always torn between hating and loving them, as I'm a big fan of the classic pair of blue jeans but always a tad scared to risk looking too country in a denim dress or even denim on denim look (unless said look consists of skinny jeans and a denim shirt), so about these particular looks from the collection I'm still unsure.
chloe, s/s 2015, ready to wear, chloé, chloé ready to wear spring summer, fashion, paris, paris fashion week, pfw, runway, spring, summerLastly, other than the great colours and details making this collection so appealing to me, the many different styles found here make it even more interesting to me. The runway looks go from summery mini dress to denim overall, flowy maxi dresses and tailored jackets and shirts, which makes the whole collection look incredibly diverse.

All pictures used in this post can be found here, as well as the rest of the collection.
Do you have any favourites? Let me know if you enjoyed my little amateur opinion and if you'd like to see more designer collection/runway fashion related posts.

A little bit of tartan never hurt nobody

When I went to Brighton a couple of days ago to have a look at the new pieces in Primark, the weather destroyed my plan of strolling around the shop for an hour, the rain being so heavy that I was standing in front of the New Look shop along with a group of other people for minutes and minutes. Having come to the conclusion that I'd be spending some more time there anyway due to the weather not improving, I made the wise (and logical!?) decision to go into New Look and have a look around. I used to love going to New Look a couple of years ago, but nowadays I always seem to forget about its existence. While in the shop, this slightly cropped grey sweater with, what I like to call a 'mini turtleneck' , caught my eye and when I went to try it on, I knew I had to have it! It's actually a size 12, (40 in Europe) so it's really not my size at all, but I purposely picked a bigger size, so that it wouldn't be tight or super cropped because after all, I still like to be at least a little bit practical when it comes to Autumn/Winter clothes. Unfortunately, it was quite hard to take good outfit pictures of this outfit as the camera had trouble picking up the mix of light and dark colours, (aka my face vs the coat, ha) but I can already see myself wearing this several times a week, so there'll definitely be better pictures of it at some point.

PS: I did end up going to Primark for a little bit but disappointingly only bought one thing... more abut that in another post!

October Inspiration

Saturday 11 October 2014

I felt like it was time to post a small inspiration post again - I kept it simple this time with only a few pictures from my tumblr, as I just finished working on a post that's a little different from my usual posts and it will probably be published within the next couple of days.

Angela & Roi A/W '14

Friday 10 October 2014

angela roi, angela & roi, handbags, fashion, ethical, vegan leather, new, autumn, collection, fall, winter, a/w 2014A couple of days ago, Angela from the handbag brand Angela & Roi emailed me about their new fall/winter handbag collection. Now, I am not usually the kind of person who would write a post about online shops contacting me, just to display their brand and designs, but this particular brand has two twists which made me decide to share it with you! First of all, their new collection is completely made out of vegan leather - or faux leather if that sounds more familiar. Even though I am mainly vegan regarding my food choices, I still like to avoid wearing real leather or fur. (but yes, I do own some leather shoes which I will keep on wearing, simply because I think it would be a waste to stop wearing them, especially as I got them before I went vegan) Secondly, the handbags from Angela & Roi support cancer and disease fighters, making a beautiful handbag you've just purchased even better by leaving you that good feeling of knowing that you've helped someone fighting a serious illness. All those great points aside, their bags are gorgeous! The handbags are all on the slightly pricier side, but they're the perfect pick when it comes to investing in a beautiful - and ethical! handbag. I chose my favourite bag - the 'minimal bucket bag' from the new collection to show you but go have a look for yourself! Here's the link to their website.

Clueless

I have never had to put this much effort into taking outfit pictures. I tried getting some decent pictures while the wind was blowing away my coat (it literally landed somewhere in our garden at some point) and my tripod was swaying back and forth dangerously - but I managed!
Ever since I bought this skirt on sale in New Look during my stay in Rotterdam and right after found this more than perfect black knitted cropped sweater, I knew they'd be a dream team together. As the title of this post already suggests, I feel slightly Clueless when wearing this combination - in the best way possible! (get it, get it?) This post also finally gives me the opportunity to show you my new coat from COS! I went to buy it with my mum when I came here at the beginning of September and it's just per-fect! It's very tailored and its straight lines make it look a bit masculine - which I love - while the perfect fit doesn't make it look oversized or like I'm wearing my dad's coat. I can genuinely say that this coat makes me even more excited about the temperatures dropping , haha!

Room/House Tour

Wednesday 8 October 2014

Exactly one month ago today, I arrived in Brighton after having been away for more than 3 months. I arrived here with my mum and after a night in a hotel, we went to pick up the keys to what would be my very first own little house to live in! After a lot of of tidying, cleaning, buying furniture, putting it together and decorating, my two housemates and I have finally more or less finished the interior of our house. Since I personally doubt that showing you the entire house in detail would be interesting to you, (unless you want me to do that, of course!) I took a couple of more detailed shots of my room and the kitchen to share with you. After years of wanting a clothing rail in my room, I finally got one, haha! The desk in my room is one of the pieces of furniture I bought and built up (amongst many other pieces I put together with my friends) and it's something I've always wanted: a white desk. Most things like sketch/notebooks, pens, etc are from a shop called TIGER, the 5 Star Kitchen sign we found in Rotterdam and the Instant human, just add coffee! sign I found online and I simply couldn't not buy it. (Seriously though, how awesome/true is this?!) Do let me know if you enjoyed this post and if you want me to post more pictures of our house :)

... all I want to do is wear a big sweater and lounge around the house, read magazines, listen to music or watch tv shows and watch the raindrops fall. In a perfect world that is, of course. I unfortunately had to leave the house this morning and fight against the wind and rain on my way to class, but I am now back home and you bet that I'll be spending my afternoon the way I described it earlier. Outfit wise, this post isn't very special but given the fact that all my favourite clothes are currently in my laundry basket and we had a non-working washing machine up until today, I went back to my beloved sweater from Asos and paired it with my ripped jeans and Nike shoes.
Enough for now, I'll go back to wrapping myself in a blanket and go sip on some tea. Have a nice start of the week!

Current Favourites

Wednesday 1 October 2014

After the initial shock when realising that today's the first of October, I decided that it was about time to publish another Current Favourites post. As usual, I've collected a few things I've enjoyed the most these past weeks or I am still enjoying!
1. The first thing to share is - how could it not be - food! Since moving in with my two friends in Brighton, I've had the chance to use an awesome blender my friend bought and brought along, so my breakfast is almost the same everyday: banana ice cream! I recently tried to switch it up a little bit and got creative. This ended in me adding instant coffee powder and agave nectar to the bananas before blending everything and oh my! This is probably my favourite flavour so far, most likely because I love coffee flavour in just about everything, haha.
2. The choker necklace hype is clearly still going on, with new variations and designs popping up everywhere, one of them being the classic 'tattoo choker'. After purchasing one (okay, two) of these tattoo chokers myself, I thought I'd add a tattoo bracelet to my order (it was less than a pound, ok) and I love it! It looks quite delicate and I personally thinks that it makes your wrists look particularly feminine and nice.
3. Naturally, no Favourites post can go without a movie or TV show, and this time it's Keeping Up with the Kardashians! I am one of those people that were more than sceptical about this show, and well, family in general, but when I more or less regularly started watching random episodes when they were on TV, I eventually started watching the 9th episode online and I love it! It's safe to say that this is one of my guilty pleasures but who doesn't have those?
4. Even though I've only really just started using my sketch book today, it's something I hope I'll be filling with lots of drawings and other things that inspire me in the future. I started off by drawing some Streetstyle looks that I found online (two of these two pictures above I actually featured on the blog a couple of days ago!).
5. Last, but not least, I've decided to add some music to this post as well. As I've already mentioned in the post before this one, I really enjoyed the movie Begin Again, starring Keira Knightley, one of my favourite actresses. As the movie is filled with music, (sung by Keira!) I fell in love with the calm and soothing soundtrack and been pretty much listening to it non-stop!
