Vintage Halloween Pictures

Wednesday, 30 October 2013

Where I come from, Halloween is almost inexistent - people might splash some blood on their faces or buy cat ears to go to "Halloween Parties" but that's the furthest it goes. Since I moved to the UK, I've been really excited about Halloween (for the first time!) and even got myself a costume. I'm not sure what tomorrow night will look like, (flatparties vs. night out in the city?) but whatever we'll end up doing, at least I'll get to wear a Halloween costume for the first time! How about you? Do you celebrate Halloween? Are you excited? Do let me know what you're planning and link me to any of your posts that are related to Halloween!

When I had a browse through the IFB website, (check it out if you haven't yet!) I found a couple of sources with vintage Halloween pictures and decided to share my favourites. There's just something about the pictures being old that makes them look so spooky. Enjoy!

The Sartorialist photo thesartorialist_zpsaeb8923d.jpg
I've been following The Satorialist's blog on Bloglovin for a while now and somehow felt the urge to put together a post with pictures of him that I liked/inspired me lately. All pictures from this post can be found on his blog. I like his pictures so much because even though they often show people who are dressed amazingly, you won't necessarily find the typical streetstyle kind of shots. There's something so real, so raw in people that have been taken a picture of while they did something as natural as walking, laughing or talking. I really liked scrolling through the blog and I often had a hard to narrow it down to a few pictures only, otherwise this post would've been massive. What do you think of the pictures I picked? Do you like them? photo thesartorialist7_zps00b1f44a.jpgThe Sartorialist photo thesartorialist8_zps31245649.jpg photo thesartorialist5_zps92ca0908.jpgThe Sartorialist photo thesartorialist4_zpsaac4a471.jpgThe Sartorialist photo thesartorialist9_zpsbb81c333.jpgThe Sartorialist photo thesartorialist6_zpsf8516de3.jpgThe Sartorialist photo thesartorialist2_zpse5ebba0b.jpg

See the spark

Sunday, 9 December 2012

I spontaneously decided to pull my brother out of the house and take a couple of pictures in the tons of snow in our garden and here are the results. We didn't take that many but I do like them :) A proper photoshoot in the snow could turn out soo cool... don't you think?

White December

Saturday, 8 December 2012

Even though we already had some snow on Monday, it properly hit Luxembourg yesterday morning, we had some kind of snow storm going on! These pictures are from yesterday, but it still looks almost the same today and it's supposed to keep on snowing tomorrow and Monday.

My saturday was/is pretty boring - only spent it studying maths and some biology, eating and driving and now I'll soon go back to maths again.. Tomorrow will look the same, so I don't know if I have anything to update about tomorrow!
I did go to see Skyfall yesterday evening (finally!) and I wasn't disappointed :) I'm not the biggest 007 fan, but I do like to watch them every now and then. Also, a package arrived, with a part of my christmas presents inside, but I still have to wait two weeks until I can open my presents.. oh well, I'll better focus on school until then.
Have a nice saturday and sooowwy for the boring update xo

2/7/12

Monday, 2 July 2012

I'm starting work today, so I prepared this post last evening. It's not much of a super interesting post, but since I'll be at work from 7 until 4 every day (apart from weekends of course) for the next two weeks, I figured that I might have to come up with some creative ideas, since I don't really wear special stuff to water the plants or clean work places!
So the pictures above are just some snapshots I took last wednesday night, in town, when I had dinner with my mum.
I already planned one or two (hopefully) more interesting posts for you guys, so I'll make the effort not to let the blog go empty and/or boring while I'm working!

Some pictures of a very lovely and cozy café in town

A very quick update, I have to take my bus soon! The plan for today is to meet up with lots of people to play football (just randomly, for fun) ,but we're all not quite sure if there'll be enough people.. In the evening, we'll go watch the game Germany vs Italy in town, there's gonna be a public viewing. I'm not really into football and everything, but it sometimes is fun to watch games with other people, just because of the atmosphere!
I'm off now, gotta get ready and then eat something before I catch my bus!

Snowy End of January

Tuesday, 31 January 2012

It's been getting colder and colder these last days and referring to the weather forecast, it should go down to around -15°C the next two, three days, which is crazy! It also snowed, not too much though, but enough to create a big chaos on Luxembourg's roads. When it comes to snow, Luxembourg really sucks at organisation to keep the streets clean.. However, this morning it looked all pretty, so I decided to take some pictures and post them, hope you like them, I don't have anything interesting to write down anyways! Off to watch the new episode of skins, xo

B/W

So yesterday I decided to take pictures of Victoria's pets.. Don't ask me why, eheh. It was easier to take pictures of Coco (the dog) since I could distract her with a goodie, but the cat, Gucci is a real diva, she literally began to pose in front of the camera, hahah!
