pants: topshop tshirt: bershka boots: h&m divided necklace: primark coat: zara

IFB is currently having a "Back to basics" project where the task is to style the basic t-shirt in an original way. I used this opportunity to wear my new plaid pants and this is the outcome! If you want to see more blogs of people participating in the project, go check out the page here. Also, how awesome is it that I can put my hair up in a bun using the hairsponge and it stays!

RECENT PURCHASES

Primark
Topshop
Vintage

First of all: it really, really bugs me that the lighting is literally never then same when I take pictures of recent buys, but I really don't know how to improve this.. any suggestions?
Here are the couple of things I bought on Sunday in Brighton. I'm really happy, as I found a few things that were on my wishlist, like this wonderful faux leather skirt from Primark for unbelievable £10! The cropped turtleneck sweater is something I've been wanting to try for a while but didn't dare to spend a fortune on, as I didn't know if I'd actually wear it a lot, so this one for £3.50 will be the perfect experiment object. Lastly, I also wanted brown lace up boots for a little while now, and even though these ones are obviously not the best quality, I really liked them and couldn't resist to buy them for £15 only! I also bought a navy skater dress, but it was pretty much impossible to take proper pictures of that. In Topshop, I finally found a beautiful pair of plaid (well, kind of?) pants, which has also been a wishlist-item for a while now. Unlike my basic idea of buying some that fit loosely, these are tight and very highwaisted but I still really love them! The frilly socks are just something small I picked up because they're just so cute. Finally, I ended up buying jewelry only at the Vintage Fair, but look at those sparkly beauties! I've been wanting a diamond-like but delicate necklace for a while now, and this one for £15 just makes me want to start singing "Diamonds are a girl's best friend". As well as the necklace, I also really wanted some Princess Di inspired earrings for months now, and I think this pair was well worth its £8!

THE MEGA FASHION BLOGGERS BATTLE

I recently got contacted by Tiago from the Procer shop and got asked if I'd like to take part in a blogger competition called The Mega Fashion Bloggers Battle and of course I said yes! The best part about the competition as that, while you as my readers have to help me to win, you can win something as well!

Now, what do you have to do? It's quite simple, really! First of all, go ahead and like their Facebook page. Then, go ahead and leave a comment with my blog URL (undersizedwardrobe) under this picture (this will be the first of many prizes I can win).
The blogger with the most comments will win the prize, but there'll also be a couple of lucky people that commented on the post, winning discount codes, jewelry, etc!

If you would like to help me win one of the prizes, please go leave your comment and spread the word on your twitter, instagram, facebook...!

PS: I've been thinking about making a small giveaway on my blog for a while now, so if I'd win one of the prizes, I might actually give it to one of my readers! It's a win-win, isn't it? ;)

Mini Instagram update

Monday, 4 November 2013

left: a while ago, Sarah and I made banana pancakes for a Sunday breakfast and watched Gossip Girl - absolutey lovely right: random lunch I made: chicken, mushroom, cheese, bellpepper, tomato, olive salad with wholewheat toast and guacamole, yum!
left: delicious lunch at Prêt à manger when my mum was visiting; shrimp/avocado salad and coconut water right: my Cleopatra make-up - I looved it!
left: close up snapshot from yesterday - I really need to start wearing lipstick during the day more often! right: today's outfit featuring my new pants - one of the few things I picked up on my shopping trip yesterday

I realised that I hadn't done an Instagram post since August, (Can you believe it?? Time flies!) so I decided to make a small update. I only selected a few pictures, as most of the pictures on my Instagram were already shown here, as I took them with my camera as well. I'll make sure to upload a proper post showing the things that I bought yesterday tomorrow! Until then, good night xo

PS: If you're not already following me on Instagram, make sure to do it here

Sunday Outfit

Sunday, 3 November 2013

sweater: secondhand pants, boots: h&m coat: primark bag: zara

Hey there! I just quickly wanted to update to show you my outfit that I wore today when I went to Brighton with my friend to do some shopping and go to a Vintage Fair. The outfit itself is quite simple, so I decided to spice it up with red lipstick, which is something I usually never wear during the day. I took pictures on the Fair which I'll be posting soon and I'll also show you what I bought!

HALLOWEEN

Friday, 1 November 2013

So as I already wrote two days ago, I was really excited about Halloween this year as it would be the first time that I'd properly dress up and celebrate it! I really loved all of our costumes and I think I'll wear mine again when Carnival comes around. Did you celebrate Halloween as well?

PS: How awesome are my last minute spider webs and the spooooky ghost? (made out of what I cut off from my dress)

My perfect 4 day Barcelona getaway

Thursday, 31 October 2013

A little while ago, I got an email from Holiday Gems asking me if I'd like to participate in a Blogger challenge, the price being a trip to Barcelona for 2, for 3 nights. The challenge is to create the perfect getaway, visiting small hidden places, discovering Barcelona in its less touristy way and so on! Since I have been to Barcelona only a couple of months ago and I loved it, I couldn't say no, so here's my entry!

As there are so many things to do, I decided to just write down anything that came to my mind that I would like to do while in the city. And by the way - this holiday is around the month of November, so that it's weather appropriate! (And yes, I've done some of those things in July already) When it comes to the person that I'd take with me on the trip, I'd take my friend Sarah with me, my faithful photographer for the blog and long-time friend!
Go to the MACBA museum - when I went there in summer, I really liked it, but unfortunately, half the exhibitions were closed due to renovations. This is quite a touristy thing to do but it's still on my must-do list! Going to the museum is also the perfect thing to do on a rainy day!
Visit a fleamarket - fleamarkets are my weakness, especially since we barely ever have anything similar in Luxembourg, so if there's a fleamarket in a city I'm visiting, I will go there!
Spend an afternoon in the Six Senses Spa on the 42nd floor - again, this is perfect for a rainy day, after you went to the museum or did some shopping! Additionally, you'll get the most breathtaking view of the city!
Cocktail, Nacho & Sandwich Lunch - back in July, my friends and I discovered this overly cute bar where you got fabulous cocktails for 3,50€ and the best snacks, I would definitely go back there, probably even more than once!
Buy fresh fruit, big ice creams or candy on the street and head to the beach to soak up some sun - this is simply a must, no matter if it's 18 or 30 degrees!
Tapas, Tapas, Tapas! - Tapas are fabulous to eat for lunch as you can decide how much exactly you want to eat, adapting to your hunger. (And don't forget that glass of Sangria!)
Watch Flamenco dancing in an untouristy, hidden place - to soak in the traditional Spanish atmosphere and culture without people trying to sell you drinks for 1€ on every corner of the street. PS: Apparently Student IDs get you a cheaper entry - can it get any better?
Visit the Parc de la Ciutadella - to take a break from the busy streets and to admire the beautiful nature and architecture.
Visit the Boqueria food market - to stock up on fresh food, good cheese and the best Spanish ham, yum!
Go to the Chocolate museum - a chocolate museum is something that I've been wanting to visit for years now, so this visit would definitely be on my to-do list!
Drink cocktails in the Juanra Falces Cocktailbar - for those of you who haven't noticed yet: I'm a huge fan of cocktails, so this is a must for a relaxed night!
Last but not least: Eat Paella! - I never was a big fan of the Spanish rice dish, until I tried some real Paella in Barcelona! There's a variation for everyone, be it vegetarian, chicken or seafood Paella.

So these are the things that I would do on a 4 day trip to Barcelona. Of course, there are hundreds of more things that you could do, but I chose the ones that interest me the most! I didn't include any clubs, as the best way to find nice ones is to look for them when you're actually in the city, but I think I'd have enough to do during the day with these ideas!
